The Los Angeles Rams just got their biggest win of the season and did it in bombastic fashion. The Rams made a huge statement with their 42-7 win over the Seattle Seahawks.
For years the Seahawks have been the brass of the NFC West division. They have been the big brother to the Rams little brother in recent memory.
Since the Rams last Super Bowl appearance in 2001, they have had only two winning seasons and two playoff appearances. While the Seahawks have had 10 winning seasons and 11 playoff appearances in the same time span. That includes three Super Bowl appearances with one victory.
All those reasons illustrate why it is tough to believe that the Rams are now in a position to win the NFC West, despite Seattle’s presence. The Rams have been making this statement all season though.
The only difference is people are now willing to listen. Los Angeles knew what they could be and have been showing it all season. They have a number of quality wins on their rap sheet and have a few losses where they cost themselves excluding the loss to Minnesota.
However, all that information was irrelevant to the outside world unless they could beat the Seahawks in Seattle. They did just that.
That win put this team on the map for a lot of people. A position they should have been in for most of the season based on their play.
That is fine though. The Rams have been okay with letting other teams such as the Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings, shoulder the burden of expectations.
It just allows them to do their thing. Low-key, and uninterrupted. Similar to a quiet storm.
One that no one sees coming, but still makes an impact.
